Hardware Used: 2 Sets of infrared tracks and one high speed camera
Hardware Location: Tracks by screen and camera above hitting zone
Measurements Taken: Ball speed, club speed, vertical launch angle, horizontal launch angle, club path and club angle
Calculations Made: Carry, distance and direction
Using two sets of infrared sensors measures the golf ball at the screen and the high speed camera from above, measures the golf club at impact giving decent measurements of the club and the ball performance; sent uninterrupted to the computer, for the software’s ball flight. By the screen and above the hitting zone hardware is outside the golf swing zone, so does not get damaged. The track measurement zone is all 4 sides of the screen and the above is 10” x 8” or 0.25m x 0.2m which is a very large detection area ensuring high accuracy.
