Hardware Used: Optical sensor mat and sonic emitting
Hardware Location: Beneath hitting zone and side of hitting zone
Measurements Taken: Ball speed, club speed, vertical launch angle, horizontal launch angle, club path, club angle side spin and back spin
Calculations Made: Carry, distance and direction
Using an optical sensor mat from beneath the hitting zone and a sonic emitting gives average measurements of the club and the ball performance; sent uninterrupted to the computer, for the software’s ball flight. Beneath hitting zone hardware does get damaged, as the components are subjected to continual pounding. Sonic could be issue in the future in certain countries due to emitting signals. The sonic measurement zone is the screen zone and the beneath is 13” x 10” or 0.33m x 0.25m, which is an average detection area ensuring an average accuracy.
